I am a storyteller.
Examining stories that explore the humanity behind the headlines —
Stories that help us better understand ourselves and our place in the world —
Stories that help us connect with one another.
As an audio producer and writer, I love diving deep into research to untangle the pieces of a story and uncover things that are big, difficult, or hidden — things that unlock the story, shedding new light on old assumptions.
With richly textured audio journeys, my style is informed by my work as in theatre and film in the United States.
When I decided to change the focus of my career to factual media, I moved to the UK to earn an MA-Distinction at University College London (UCL) for Audio Storytelling for Radio and Podcast, a programme within Public Anthropology.
Often, my stories look at politics, religion, and where those two meet. I also love digging into medical and psychological research to learn more about how intertwined the body and brain are.
My happy place is the outdoors. In fact, as a treat to myself for completing a full month’s run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022, I tackled the West Highlands Way — a 96-mile walking trail in the Scottish Highlands.

Living Well with Food Allergies
a 10-minute audio doc
When you have food allergies, the transition into young adulthood can add challenges for both the young adult and their parents as they learn to navigate allergy management on their own.
Threads was undertaken during my master’s programme at University College London (UCL) for a documentary filmmaking course. It explored the community created around a solitary activity — sewing — at a haberdashery in East London.
This Moment in America was a show I conceived, wrote, produced, and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022. Performing daily at Underbelly, I live-mixed an audio recording of up-to-the-minute reflections on and reactions to news in the United States. A sonic collage of the American psyche, This Moment in America asked, “Can we find more to unite us than what divides us?”
Part of producing a show at the Edinburgh Fringe is marketing that show to an absolutely saturated market with hundreds of shows playing at venues scattered all over Scotland’s capital city.
Not only do you have to punch through the noise to be discovered by your audience, they then have to find their way to the theatre — often a converted building that spends 11 months of the year serving an entirely different purpose.
Here are two social media videos used to promote This Moment in America.
Monster in Me brings emotions to life for early education students by turning them into monster puppets and offering kids a way to see their emotions as something that may be outside of who they are. (as Clara Harris)

Monster in Me was commissioned and produced by StageOne Family Theatre as Monster of Mine. Published (as Monster in Me) by Pioneer Drama. Written by Clara Burns (credited as Clara Harris). Directed by Keith McGill. Costume design by Allison Anderson. Set design by Karl Anderson.
The challenge with Whazzits was to craft an entertaining and interactive play for pre-schoolers that would premiere as a filmed play. It was developed in partnership with StageOne and Jefferson County Public Schools during the pandemic to provide social emotional learning opportunities for pre-schoolers who are facing the transition to kindergarten.
